Big Black Bear

The big kids, and mommy, off to the fair.
Born to be wild.
Grady and Conner petting the goats.

I wish I would have had a camera at the bus stop this morning. A few minutes before the bus arrived, a huge black bear came strolling down our driveway, crossed the street, and walked into the woods. Our bus stop is approximately 200 yards from our house. Crazy. I suppose we need to call animal control.

Our weekend with Ben, Grace, and Gavin was a lot of fun. We hit the fair, playground, played some cards with our neighbors, and relaxed. It is so neat to see the kids grow up together - Grace is Conner's first friend. They met when Conner was only 4 weeks old and Grace 4 months.

School is going great. However, apparantly some older, 4th grade, students asked Conner to move from the back of the bus because that is where "the big kids sit." Conner didn't quite understand this. He said they were nice about it but he didn't get why he couldn't stay there. He asked if he should tell them that he knows karate. I said that probably wasn't a good idea, especially since they were nice about it, and said that when he is older he'll probably sit in the back seat and that he can let the younger kids sit back there with him if he'd like. I don't know just how to handle this sort of thing. I certainly remember being in younger grades and sitting in the front of the bus because Stacey Martin and all of the other big kids were in the back of the bus. I didn't get the feeling that he was afraid of these kids, just that he was a bit confused. Again, is it going too far to outfit Conner with some sort of hidden camera?? Oh, and tomorrow is the first day of buying lunch. Taco day, yummy.

I'm adding a couple of videos from the fair. Enjoy.

Ah - Bus stop memories....Sorry that we will miss you at Pawley's. We are leaving on the 22nd. It would be fun to see you and your boys. I could use some advice on life with boys. Take care!
