Yes, that was my time this weekend! I had a great time, I'm proud that I finished my first sprint, and I also learned a few of things along my route Saturday morning.

Let's see...what did I learn...I definitely need a road bike next time out - even with the road tires the college TREK needs to be reserved for family rides with the kiddos...never race in new clothes - I didn't lose my shorts but I'm glad I did a couple of practice push offs before hitting the water - let's just say if I would have pulled them up any further I'd have been eating Under Armour...if my body is saying take a break - more like screaming take a break - take a break - my legs did not want to move during the run, and when I FINALLY let myself walk (with only 3/10 of a mile to go) for a spell, all of a sudden my legs were fully functioning...running on the treadmill after spinning is no where near equivalent to running on the road after biking on the road - really, not even close...and finally, this was definitely the first of many sprint tris!!

Seriously, I had a great time doing it and I think the fam had a good time attending the event. My times were...6 min for my 300m swim, 55 min for the 15 mile bike, and 33 min for the 5k. I don't know what I was expecting the run to be like but I wasn't expecting to feel like I was unable to control my legs, and that is what I felt like. (I wish I had a video of what I looked like running...I felt like I'd never run before!) The fact that it only took me 33 min is astonishing.

Thanks for all of the good thoughts and prayers this weekend...I'm pretty sure that is one of the reasons my feet continued to fall one in front of the other during those 33 minutes. I'm on the lookout for my next one so I'll be sure to update the next race.

Later.
