Only 5 more days...

My sweet little Spencer...she's such a peanut!! Look at that team spirit!

until I get to meet Spencer! I cannot wait to get down to Pawley's to see my little niece and the proud parents. The boys and I will roll into Pawley's on Saturday evening so I'm counting down.

Shawn returned from the men's retreat this afternoon. He had lots of great things to say about it and was glad to be able to spend some time with our good friend Kevin. My time at home with the boys was good - I always get a lot done around the house when Shawn is traveling. Needless to say, I spent last night washing the kitchen and bathroom floors. Another rockin' Saturday night at the Johnson's!

These last two weeks I've been pushing myself on my running days. Friday evening I did just under 5 miles - that is a bit more than I would typically do in one stretch, but I was having a sort of Forest Gump moment and just kept going. (I also reworked the music on my MP3 player so I was enjoying a few new tunes in the rotation.) Saturday morning was a long spin, 1 tiring hour, and then I hit an express strength train. I've really taken to the strength training classes. If your gym offers these, check it out, they are really challenging but it makes the time fly by and you don't have to count sets on your own.

Conner and Grady are doing great. Conner is really working on his letters and he's started to sound out words and do a bit of writing. Granted, the words he writes often times are a row of consonants that do not spell an actual word, but he's trying. I've gotten, "Mommy, what does this spell?" only to see FNPLWWPLN, or some other list of random letters, more than once. Grady is the little comedian. Whatever he says is, to him, the funniest thing he's heard in ages. (During his "stand-up" moments, he speaks in baby babble so we're not quite sure just what is being discussed.) The dude is always laughing and trying to get right into the middle of everything. He's just too cute.

Have a great week!

My little baby...he's getting so big!

So, what kid didn't do the old suck-the-glass-onto-your-face bit?

My guys being little goofs!

It's a girl!!

Sayward had a little girl, 4 pounds 13 ounces. My mom didn't know the length but she said that she looks long and that she has Matt's mouth! Both mommy and daughter are doing fine. Say had a C-section so she'll be in recovery for a little while. Oh, a name...I know what they were thinking about naming her - Margaret Spencer - but I'm not sure if that is what they went with. I'll post when I hear. Yay!!!! I finally get to buy some pink!!!!!!!

All of you former Laurelville goers...

So I'm leafing through the most recent edition of the American Funds newsletter, Investor, and I see a familiar face. (Ok, so Shawn's a financial planner and I read his magazines once in a while, no biggie.) Anyway, if you attended Laurelville in the very early 90s, probably 1990, you may have seen Joe Cavanaugh speak. He was very entertaining - he had this signature "move" that we found extremely hilarious - and also a really good speaker. He and his wife of four years are feautured in the magazine. Here's a link to the publication. Enjoy!
